What does this really mean?

This is a Network Video Recorder, it records for IP cameras, also called digital cameras, it can record 9 cameras at a time and a total of 60MB per second
The recording can can be from 2MP cameras or 1080P each
This is just the recorder and needs a switch where all the cameras connect and then a single connection from the switch to this recorder
The recorder connects to a monitor that is sold separately either through a HDMI or VGA cable
The compression method is called H.264, which is the same as MPEG-4 and the record method of files with the .MP4 extension
The video recorder, also call a Network Video Recorder (NVR) can connect to the internet with a typical network cable and connect into a router for remote viewing
To watch video on a monitor live, the video will display all 8 cameras at a lower resolution and one camera can be selected to show the full video
